About Card Centering Calculator

Card Centering Calculator is a small independent team of collectors and software developers. We build the Card Centering Calculator app for iOS and Android, the free web centering tool, and a family of card scanner apps for Pokémon, sports cards, Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

What the tool does

Centering is the one grading criterion you can measure exactly at home. Our app detects the card edges and the printed border from a photo, measures the left/right and top/bottom border ratios (front and back), and shows where the card lands on the published PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC and TAG centering scales. The web tool does the same in your browser with draggable guide lines.

How we write our articles

Articles are signed Card Centering Calculator Team and are written and edited by the people who build the apps. Every centering tolerance we quote comes from the grading company's own published standards page, which we link in the Sources section at the end of each article, and we label community reports and secondary claims as exactly that. We research what collectors actually ask (search data, forums, our own support inbox) and try to answer those questions with numbers, worked examples and tables rather than generalities. When a standard changes, we update the article and its “updated” date.

Independence

We are not affiliated with PSA, Beckett (BGS), CGC, SGC, TAG or any other grading company. Grade estimates from our tools are estimates based on published centering standards; the final grade is always the grader's decision.
